My Name is Sydney.
I was born and raised in Seattle, Washington, surrounded by forests, mountains, and wide open spaces. The kind that indulge a creative mind. Creativity like the time in 5th grade I forced my parents and friends to act in my short film in which I held the titles: actor, executive producer, and director.
Since I was young I have always loved stories. I can recall sitting on my mothers bed listening to audio books face scrunched in anticipation.
I loved learning too. I remember being gleeful, smiling ear to ear each morning before school. Sprinting to line up before the bell. I have always been full of energy for the things I am most passionate about.

All of this followed me to high school where I became more involved in the arts. I endeavored in mediums such as oil painting, drawing, photography, and ceramics. In my junior year I joined the student paper, The Puma Press and by my senior year I was editor-in-chief. For our dedication and professionalism, our paper was awarded the Washington Journalism Education Association’s Emerald Award and the Columbia Scholastic Press Association’s Silver Crown Award for the 2023-2024 school year.
Today I am a student at Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts, majoring in Journalism and International Affairs with a minor in French. On campus, I have worked on projects for Artistry Magazine and The Huntington News. Currently, I am the Photo Director for The Avenue Magazine.
